Together We’re Better

The FORE Foundation supports local non-profits who have a positive impact on the RVA community without using any donor funds for administrative or operational expenses. At the FORE Foundation we also believe that support should go beyond financial donations and include the donation of time and talent from our valued staff and volunteers. We are integrated into the communities and organizations we support.

NON-PROFIT PARTNERSHIPS

FORE Foundation Charitable Fund

The Community Foundation for a greater Richmond is proud to serve as a partner to the FORE Foundation through the FORE Foundation Charitable Fund. As a component fund of the Community Foundation, this Fund provides the FORE Foundation with a dedicated platform to collect charitable contributions and direct resources to nonprofits making a difference in the Richmond region.

The Community Foundation for a greater Richmond is a leading partner and advocate for philanthropy and service in the Richmond region. Founded in 1968, they have built a strong legacy of helping people and institutions to give back with passion and purpose.  The Community Foundation has collectively granted $1 billion since inception to support thousands of nonprofits working to support and enhance all areas of community life.

Comfort Zone Camp

The FORE Foundation and Comfort Zone Camp are partnering together to improve the physical, mental and social health of children in the Richmond area who are impacted by grief and loss and provide the resources for them to heal, grow and lead fulfilling lives.

Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization founded and headquartered in Richmond, VA, that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, primary caregiver, or significant person.  Comfort Zone’s free of charge programs are offered to children ages 7-17, young adults for 18-25-year-olds, and separate parent and guardian programs. Since 1999, Comfort Zone has helped over 25,000 children. Nationally, 1 in 12 children will lose a parent by the age of 18. The need for supporting grieving children in on the rise as a result of COVID, and increased losses from suicide and overdose.

Bikes for Kids

Bikes for Kids, through the Richmond Area Bicycling Association (RABA), brings joy to deserving children across the Greater Richmond area by organizing the donation of bikes and helmets during the holiday season. In our most recent drive, we proudly delivered 560 bikes and helmets! Distribution efforts included working with the Christmas Mother programs in the City of Richmond and the counties of Henrico, Charles City, Caroline, Powhatan, Cumberland, King William, and New Kent. We also partnered with public school systems in Hanover and Chesterfield, as well as Richmond’s Bellemeade School. In addition, bikes were provided to community nonprofits such as STEP, Goochland Cares, Promised Land, Jewish Family Services, St. James School, and the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office.
